Hey guys, I was doing an inspection of my Alpha One today and I noticed some chipping/cracks around where the upper and lower units meet. My guess is the previous owner tried using a screwdriver to pry the halves apart and ended up cracking it. It also looks like part of the casing is missing on the upper half at the tip, again I'm guessing it was used to pry/hammer against. I'm just wondering if these are superficial or if they are going to causing an issue with water intrusion? I'm planning to repaint the drive so I was considering using some JB Weld to close them up if it's just an aesthetics issue. Attaching some pictures for reference.

Thanks!

No worries about intrusion, clean and paint and go have some fun
Simply amazing what some people think they can do with hammers and screwdrivers

Buy a good SS cup brush to clean aluminum, which is a real pain, then you can make pretty. Metal 2 metal or M teck or any marine filler, followed by a lot of sanding, priming and then painting.
