Alpha One drive damage?

Hi all. I have a 97 Maxum 23' with a 5.7 Mercruiser and an Alpha One outdrive. Had her out in the river last night and encountered some debris. Nothing major that I would be worried about, and I didn't find any significant damage except this - seems to be a very solid nick in the outdrive. I haven't seen it before so I assume it's damage. How severe is this, and how can I go about fixing it?

It's not damaged at all. That is the pickup for the speedometer.

What are the green things in the cooling water pick up holes?

Don - thanks! I didn't know how the speedo system worked. I never bothered with it since they never work anyway.

tswiczko - you can see straight through the pickup to the grass on the other side!
