I have a 3.7 (488r) merc currently in my boat. If I were to replace the motor could I replace it with a 4.3 or would I have to change a bunch of parts in the out drive?
The outdrive would not need to be changed. I am not sure about the transom assembly. The engine mounts will be you hardest part. I agree with Slip Away, sell it and buy the boat you want. It will be much much cheaper and easier in the long run.
