Yesterday the line broke between the transom in the outdrive is there a check valve in there to stop the water from going into the outdrive I would like to know if I can block it off because I cannot get it in the shop for at least three weeks to a month in the shop we don’t do much driving with it maybe I’ll together maybe two or three hours a day I was told the check valve that will not let water get into the outdrive but I don’t understand that

The check valve doesn't work that way
The valve blocks off lube from draining out when the drive is removed only. With the drive installed, as the drive heats up it will leak lube out thru the transom thru fitting into the bilge. Next thing will happen is drive will be low on lube and damage the drive

Well I’m glad I caught it I drained it out there’s a little bit of water in it and it was a little bit low it just happened yesterday and I probably got 20 minutes on it after the line broke the shop I deal with at another shop can’t get it for three weeks what I’m thinking it was told by his shop that I want her to block it off just keep an eye on the fluid

If its blocked off that's one thing but not blocked off that is another which is what I took as was being discussed

Yes I’m in the process of blocking it off and change the fluid it’ll just be a temporary thing for at least three weeks and I’ll fill it to the line like a regular alpha one

It’s really nice knowing that it was fixed right we just took the boat out on the lake lake Berlin in jOhio and I don’t know if it’s my imagination or what but the boat seem to run so much smoother . The lube did have some water and it had less than a quart of oil in it and it was pretty black , we got a storm coming through here after six days in the 90,s it’s a Relief. 70 now
