Hi All,
I'm a lurker, trying to turn into an occasional poster. What a g-r-e-a-t
site ! ! Great questions and even greater answers.. Outstanding !

I removed my outdrive yesterday, to prepare for removing a cracked block engine.. (thanks son-in-law).
I had the shifter in neutral, when I pulled it. (knew better, just forgot)..

Am I going to have a problem, when it comes time to re-install ? ?
Where should the shifter be when I do install ? ?

Thanks Loads.....
Jerry...........

Re: Alpha One Outdrive

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,...

When working on Any of the Alpha series of outdrives,...
Everything should be in Forward....

Closely inspect the Shift Shoe,+ it's Slide for Damage from pulling it in Neutral...

What's the Vintage of what you're workin' on,..??
I'll hook you up with the factory Manual....
This 1 is the 83 to 90 Alpha manual,...

Btw, Jerry,....
Now that you're going to be a Poster,....
Go to your User CP,+ fill in the Specfics of your barge, in the signature box...
It'll save everybody continuously asking,... "What's your Boat/ Motor/ Year,..??..??" ;)
