I have been here for a while but this is the first post. I have a '95 5.7L alpha one Was checking things over to put to bed for the winter and realized i had water in the drive oil. I pulled the drive and then found water in the bellows that houses the gimbal bearing. I am waiting on a fitting to arrive in the mail to pressure check the drive to determine where water is entering. Is it reasonable that water could be entering the drive via the bellow leak. I have been told the shaft seal is to keep oil in but does not keep water out. Lastly when i pulled the drive i found what i believe are two pieces of the exhaust flappers. Does each side of the exhaust contain a flapped or is there only one once the exhaust merges. I am planning to replace bellows...or have it done pending cost of tools and then whatever seals may be leaking in drive Just check with those more experienced to determine if i am on the right track I added a picture of the bellows and what i believe is the exhaust flapper. (9/16 wrench for reference) The picture of the exhaust exit and shift rod is where i found the flapper parts

Well i will have to resize pictures as they are too big. Will post them later

Thanks in advance

there is one in each side of the Y pipe, and water will enter the drive from leaking bellows. plan on replacing the gimbal bearing too.

Thanks for the help. Got the bellows, gimbal bearing and exhaust shutters replaced. New shift cable installed. Took the boat for a spin last weekend and everything went well. Shifted nice and smooth both directions and no weird weird noises. Ran cool.
got it home and pulled the drive and no water in the bellows, no issues.

Drained the water and have put it to bed for the winter :(
Thanks for the insight above.
should be ready to go in the spring
