So I bought a 92 Glastonbury 17ft with a mercruiser 4.3 and alpha one out drive. First time out today and I discovered the hard way that the shift cable bellow was blown. So after some quick research I gather all I need to do is pull the outdrive actuators, pull the six mounting nuts and then pull the put drive off. Then disconnect the shift cable from inside and then pull it out and replace the bellow and reverse the process.

Sound right. Also can some post a link to where I can get the bellow?

Ayuh.... Welcome aboard,.... Ya could do it that way,...

Generally speakin',.... When the bellows rips, 'n leaks, the cable fails shortly there after....
'n the rest of the rubber parts in there are probably the same age, so, they're ready to leak too....

I tear 'em down, 'n replace All the rubber parts, 'n the cable at the same time....

Once you get to fixing the shift cable bellows, you will soon discover that you don't want to do this on a yearly basis fixing first one thing then the next. Get the parts, and set aside a weekend to do the job and be good for 5 years................. not one, or 6 months, or the 4th of July weekend  or whenever the next piece fails.
