Alpha Shift Cable adjustment help needed

After installing my freshly serviced drive I cant seem to get fwd .I installed it right but it looses fwd after I shift the throttle out of fwd after installing the drive.hoping someone can walk me through a cable adjustment for fwd.1988 5.0lx mercruisers with alpha drives.Thanks Charlie

Charlie if you go to the "Adults only" section you can download the manual for alpha 1's. The whole procedure is in there.
