To: Achris....I was following a thread the other day about a Alpha drive issue and the O.P. kept calling it a Pre-Alpha and you had stated that in all the manuals.... you have never seen merc call it a pre-alpha drive......which i am sure you are absolutely right. No doubt...
That got me thinking....I had just put my MC-1 drive back on a few days before and rememberd seeing the word pre-alpha on the mercusier gasket set package. Buy it actually said........"prior to Alpha 1970 to 1982"
So i think this is where everyone is getting Pre-Alpha slang.
Just thought i would mention it.
