Hello

Ok this is my situation... I have this diagram
untitled.jpg

and this alternator... this is with gold cover on

Same alternator with out gold cover on

Now my question is is this alternator going to work??? I assume the the gold nut will be for my orange wire and the silver nut "second picture" be for my ground wire...
I have a purple and a red purple wire that still need to hook up to this thing but i have no where to hook them "to my knowledge anyway"any ideas on what to do or if i have to where is the right alternator for the job... This is going on a 454 mercruiser if it helps... thanks

Re: Altenator ?

The other 2 (small) wires will not be used. They are hot so they must be taped off so they can't contact each other or a ground.

Did i have it right with the red going to the brass screw and the black going to the "well it looks blue in the 2nd picture" silver screw

Re: Altenator ?

It's the same alternator guys, all he did was removed the shield.

If you look real close in the picture with the shield off, you can see the shield just to the upper left of the alternator, and the screws are laying there too. Just above the date on the picture.

I had the same question for this alternator. Is there any explanation behind this?
