Is there any way around spending the $200 for the motor side fuel connector and the hose connector?the motor side has two fuel lines. The motor is a 1958 seahorse 35.

Yeah they want $60 for the motor side and$150 for the hose side. It didn't have either of them when I bought it. I had no idea they were that costly!

The price was from marine engine. There are no salvage yards around here either

the salvage yards in the top secret file will ship parts. you do have the pressure tank??? have you done any research on converting to single line/fuel pump??

edit......you sure its a 1958 35hp???? those have a fuel pump.

Looking at the parts diagram that's what it shows. The motor has two fuel lines that come out where the connector is suppose to be. One goes to the block under the carb and the other comes off the fuel filter. The pic of the connector it shows has three barbs on it. Ill post a pic of it when I get home to the computer. Thanks for the help so far!

The model number of the motor is rd19c. I haven't looked at the conversion. It has the normal outboard fuel pump, the little box with the diaphragm in it. I'm not sure if that's a pressure tank, never heard it called that if so.

Yes, the standard 1958 35 has the pressure tank system. The deluxe Super Seahorse had a fuel pump.

For $200 you should be able to find several good tanks with connectors! Shop around AOMCI site and eBay, you'll find one.

So what is that in the pic that looks like a fuel pump? I've been reading about the conversion and it seems to be about $80 or so think I may try that route

That thing in your photo is the rev limiter to prevent runaway. It was found that the Big Twins had a nasty habit of revving to destruction with no load, ie in neutral or if you nicked the shear pin. That gadget shuts off spark to one cylinder to bring revs down if it notices a jump in crankcase pressure.

That is the vacuum cut-out switch - shuts the motor down in case of a runaway situation. I've got (a used) motor-side connector for your motor at a fraction of the cost they quoted you. PM me if interested. I will be out of town until next Friday, so won't be able to ship it until then.

Anyone know which motor side fuel connector would mount up so I could use a single fuel line? Would it still use the 3/16 fuel line?

I sent you a PM.

Are you interested in converting your motor? If you dont already have a pressure tank, might be a good idea. Do you already have a single line tank?

Re: alternative fuel connectors? 58 seahorse 35

I actually already started converting it but I'm not sure if I need to remove the check valves or not. I did try to plug the vacuum line but broke off the nipple and now have to drill it out and yes I do have a standard plastic tank. Fuel pump on the way also. One problem though is the tiller handle broke off and it will cost a lot more than I paid for the motor to replace the handle. The gear is hanging out the end still so I will have to rig something up.

Dont modify the intake manifold. I would put all that back, then get your pulse from the bypass cover. Drill/tap a cover when removed, install a nipple then reinstall the cover. Run a line from this nipple to the pulse fitting of the pump. Plug the old pressure line with a bolt.
