Alternative to Google

Looking for an alternative to Google as my primary search engine. I'm tired of Google taking me to places that I did not want to go.

Suggestions? Experiences?

There is always Bing, although I prefer google. What do you mean by taking you places you did not want to go?

Not Yahoo. Yahoo has to be the worst. I've never had any bad experiences with Google. I don't use anything else.

Sounds like you have one of the redirect viruses.

Got Bing in my system through a redirect virus. Took forever to get it gone. If that's how they play I want nothing to do with them.

If google is taking you places you don't want to go, then you have a virus and need to get rid of it, do a search somewhere for the redirect virus and ways to get rid of it.

I uninstalled Google Chrome, I burns up too much CPU cycles for me.
I uninstalled Internet Explorer (IE).

Now I use Firefox for a Browser, and either Yahoo or Bing. I only use Google for e-mail (g-mail).
I also uninstalled the Adobe Plug-in product, because of too many ads, that I don't care to see.
