According to my manual, my Honda 90 produces 16 amps. I assume this is at high RPM. My question is: does anyone know approx. what kind of output I get at trolling speed (2000-3000 RPM)

2000-3000 trolling speed???? WOW!!!!
3000 on my 115 and I'm at 19-20mph on plane.
As for charging current, your manual should show a charge, or amp curve-type graph as to the output at what RPM...however, most modern charging systems are capable of higher out-put at lower RPM meaning you may have 10-12 amps @2500-3000, and maybe 3-5 @ Idle...most likely around 3...

Re: Alternator output

I did some research and found that at idle (950 rpm) it produces approx. 10 amps and max output of 16 amps is 3500 rpm and beyond.

BTW. trolling speeds for game fish here is 9 to 11 mph. which is around 2800 to 3000 rpm in my boat. It gets on plane soon after and at 3200 RPM will be going around 18 mph.

Yea, I thought about that trolling speed after I realised where you were located....That's some serious speed!!!
I've been chasing Walleye too long....2mph is too fast one day, then 2+ the next is the only thing they want, then the curve ball comes, and they want a worm at .5mph.
I knew the newer systems had a higher out-put at lower rpm, and thats good...we've needed that for a long time...especially at night, chasing wallys!!!
