I had an alternator go bad on my boat, so I pulled it and took it to get rebuilt.. I got it back and right before I installed it I noticed that there is a fair amount of resistance when the shaft spun. I know that the brushes can produce friction but this resistance is not continuous. The resistance is only on one specific point during the revolution... Once that point has pasted it spins fine until that exact point on the next revolution. Is this normal or did they rebuild the alternator wrong.
Thanks
