I found an Alumacraft V16 sitting in a yard and am curious what you think would be a fair offer for it. The hull is in good shape, as in no dents, gashes or holes. The boat has been sitting for some time and the transom is trashed and it has a plywood deck on the front that needs to be ripped out. Couldn't see underneath the deck to see how it looks under there. It has a foot controlled trolling motor on it but no idea if it works or not. The trailer is pretty rusted up, but not sure if it is rusted through or only surface rust. Both tires are as flat as pancakes. There was no hull ID plate that I could find, so I don't know the exact model or year, but the Alumacraft and V16 stickers on the side are bright and clear. Assuming that they have the registration and title for it all...what do you think a fair price would be to offer them for it?
Also, from what I have seen these boats were rated for 25 horse motors (tiller) and I am curious why they are rated so low. I am not expecting it to handle an 80 horse tiller, but I can't see why it couldn't handle at least a 30 or 35. My Grandpa had an old 16' Lowe river jon (48" at the floor) that was rated for a 30 horse and this Alumacraft seems to be just as stout and I would guess the floor width to be 60" or so. Just curious.
