Hey Guys
I just bought a 1971 12' V-hull aluminum starcraft for 300 bucks off craigslist. Originally I was looking for a nice small bass boat to leave in the lake at my dock but the prices were way out of my college student budget.
I decided on buying a stock boat and customizing it myself.
-I have been toying with the idea of removing the bench seats and putting in a low level floor with storage for gear and fishing equipment?
-I'd like to install two pedestal seats, one in the front and one in the back for controlling the tiller
-I've done alot of searching for similar projects and have found some great stuff, but I was wondering if there are any words of wisdom from someone who has done this type of project?
I will defiantly be treating the plywood floor and covering it in carpeting. Also I think i want to use square aluminum tubing for supporting the floor. The aluminum tubing will be easier to design compartments than using wood braces.
Anything is appreciated
Thanks!
