Aluminum boat bottom looks?

Hi, I have a 2000 16 Avenger Sport made by Fisher. The hull is welded. On the bottom of the boat, should I be able to see what looks like the inside support pieces, protruding out of the bottom of the hull a little? It isn't looking like it is going to "pop" through or anything, but I can see the frame of the hull in some places. Is this bad? Thanks for any info.

SS,

I'm sure it won't hurt. However, that is telling you that those portions of the hull have been, or are, taking a pretty good pounding.

If these areas are near trailer supports, you may need more support from the trailer.

If it's a roller trailer, you may need more rollers.

They are mostly towards the bow near where the deep V section is. Could it be that it came this way from the factory? It was a lake only boat before I got it.

I would say that someone ran it pretty rough. Stuffing the bow into some hard waves.

Do you think they will ever pop through the hull?

I seriously doubt it. Don't worry.

Again referring to my clone of your boat, I have them too. I was initially thinking like you, but have not seen them change in appearance in 5 or 6 years. Some of the marks are where the supports and floor brackets were welded in.

I was reconsidering getting the 75hp to replace my 40hp, but now that I know that this is normal, I am going to this fall. Thanks for the info.
