Whats the consensus on using an aluminum boat in brackish water?

I am not worried about cleaning up the boat after I am done..The concern is the long-term damage it may cause..

Thoughts?

Trailer or moored? If it's trailered and you wash it down ....no damage. If it's moored you could be subjected to galvanic corrosion.

I use mine in salt water 99% of the time. Just wash it off.

My boat had better last longer than 16 years. If you keep it on a trailer and wash it off every time you use it, it should last a few more decades.

If you have a starter battery wired and you leave your boat in the water (with motor down), you could aggravate electrolysis with the small amounts of current which can leak down the shaft. If this is the case, disconnect the battery when boat is not used. Otherwise, you're good to go.
