Aluminum boat repair-dent/side weld

Recently got caught in some nasty weather and got some damage to the boat. I’ve contacted some local welding shops who I know can do the welding portion it’s the body work that I’m concerned about. The folks I’ve talked to aren’t sure if they can do the body work given the location of the damage and have suggested possibly replacing the entire sheet metal panel. I’m not familiar enough with how Crestliner hulls are constructed, all I know is they are all welded with no rivets.

Any my thoughts on repairing the attached? There is a dent that should be able to be worked out, it’s the backend where the transom meets the side of the boat. There is a small crack you can see the foam of the boat.

live in KS and aluminum boats like this aren’t too prevalent. Boat is a Crestliner Superhawk

Find an experienced aluminum fabticator. The seam will need to be cut, the transom and side pounded our, and the seam re-welded.

The foam will need to be redone

The small dents can be hammer and dollied back into shape

In order to pound out the side and transom, I’m assuming they will need to get to the inside of the boat , which would mean removing the foam?

insurance should cover the total repair so I’m fine traveling to find the right person to do the work. Any recommendations in KS/MO/NE/OK?

yes, foam would need to come out.

if this is an insurance job, ask them. go to the marinas/boat dealers and ask them who they would use.

should be plenty of places in your neck of the woods.
