I have a one piece alum intake/exhaust manifold that has a bolted top and bottom cover plate. The manifold is mounted on a merc 165,1974 vintage.I havent seen this manifold in any repair books but marine parts dealer told me it is for a 160 hp motor. The last time I opened the manifold up it was still clean inside and the yellow zinc chromate paint inside was still intact, even the water sides(saltwater)

My neighbor has an Edelbrock performer on his and it's lasted about 6 years however the salt is taken it's toll. The lip wher the thermosthat sits has corroded away. I'll add that it did not increase performance when he put it on. Stock manifolds work very well under 4500 rpm.

Thanks for the info guys...I have the stock manifold as well as the aluminum one. Probably will go back with the original. Thanks again.
