so on my 99 Sylvan the deck joint (which has sealant in it, has spread in a few spots enough that it is collecting dirt/debris. I would like to caulk that joint strictly for cosmetic reasons, and to ease cleanup. I'm not looking for structural or leack prevention.

Hope that makes sense, but what would you use to caulk a joint of painted aluminum to painted aluminum that is exposed to the sun that would hold up.

If that doesn't make sense, I will try to get a picture.

thanks for your help.

Re: aluminum joint caulking - cosmetic only

Hope you don't mind, but I was just going to post a similiar question, maybe we both can get some answers.

I am looking to reinstall my splashwell on my aluminum Starcraft which is 3 pieces. What caulk would I use on bare aluminum before it's painted. Mine would be cosmetic, but also need to seal the pieces together and then be able to get painted. I bet the answer will be the same for both of us.

Thanks.

I'd go with 3M 5200.
