I have been trying to find information on repairing this. The previous owner had repaired a crack in the keel with JB weld, which probably held good for years. There were no leaks this year, but I noticed it must have cracked off when we beached this weekend. (Still only a drip when filled with water due to the internal sealing) .
What is the proper way to repair this?
I have friends who are experienced welders (aircraft aluminum parts not boats). I would ask them if we could clean it up and weld it. However, I saw some old posts where folks said not to weld due to the seam sealer melting.
