I think I read here at some point about noises from the motor mount (transom). Whenever I raise my OB fully tilted it kinda bangs and when I lower it the same thing. I checked the mountings and all seems fine. Is this normal? I figure it's just the aluminum flexing. But want to be sure.
Thanks

I'd venture to say that a banging noise isn't normal at all. Should only hear the tilt/trim motor running. I'd pull the pontoon and have someone raise and lower it till I found the problem.

I couldn't even venture a guess on this one. If you can take a video with sound so we could hear it we might be able to guess better.

I'm with cc on this one, that isn't normal at all, have some one raise and lower it till you find the source of the noise, something isn't right.

Not normal. I'd get it to a competent mechanic before the problem worsens.

Re: Aluminum Noise

Well it seems this is caused from the steering rod (arm) for lack of a better term hitting the boat when the motor is turned all the way to the right. I can see no way of changing this so I will try to remember to turn it away from dead right when tilting or lowering the motor. I'll see if this corrects the issue all the time.

Had the same on mine when I first put the motor on at the lowest setting. Raised the motor up one hole....problem solved.
