starting fluid is a no-no on 2 stroke engines...you'd be better off with an atomizer and gas mix...sounds like your fuel system may be losing prime...check lines/clamps/connectors/etc

Does it always need fluid only when cold starting? if so check that either the chokes are closing when you push in the key and turn to start, OR-- if it has an enrichment valve instead of chokes, be sure the valve is delivering fuel to the carbs. There should also be a knob on top of the valve to manually prime the engine.

There are two different control lever styles. on one you pull the lever out a little to disable the shift mechanism. On the other, you press a button in the center of the lever pivot. This allows you to advance throttle without shifting into gear.

Only on a cold start, are you pulling out the shift lever, or pressing the button in the center and moving the lever forward to fast idle position? Push the lever until it stops. This will give start position and a fast idle of about 2000 rpm.

On a cold start, these Forces just will not start unless the throttle is advanced a little. Usually not necessary on a warm start.
