Hi,
After about 3 hours of running with new spark plugs I noticed my plugs on all 3 cylinders have no carbon or dark deposits and are completly dry. The insulators are a light grey in color.Sometimes when I go to start it when warm it will sneeze and the only way to start it is to give it full thorttle. This is a 1977 70 HP Johnson using QL77JC4 plugs.Thanksfor the help
Tom

book says normal plug is light tan to GRAY color of insulator, with few deposits and the electrodes are not burned, indicating correct heat range. sounds like something else is going on. how does the motor run, you don't seem to have any complaints with it other than having to throttle up to start?

If your plugs are "dry" and you suspect a lean condition, bump the choke at an idle when warm and see if your rpms pick up or use a little premix in a mist bottle and spray near the carbs.
Are you using fresh 87 octane fuel and TC-W3 oil at 50:1 (1 pint to 6 gallons?)Are all the plugs exactly the same? Let us know....
Good luck

Isn't a "lowspeed sneeze" a sign of a lean idle circuit???
