Am I under-propped?

I have a 1994 Force 70hp, and it has a 10x13 prop. Just seems like it's undersized for the engine. It's on a '94 Bayliner Capri, and top speed is 31mph gps. I don't have a tach installed, so I'm not sure what rpm's I'm running. Just curious. Thanks....

Hard to say without knowing your WOT RPM, but it does sound a little under propped. Id try a 15 or 17P....might bump you up to around 35 or so which is respectable for a 70 on that boat.

I am running a 10 3/8" x 14" Apollo with a 40HP Force on a 16' Sundance with approximatley 1,600 pounds allup weight, I am getting within 5% of the Top RPMs my motor will turn. But you can't ever tell anything without a GPS and a Tach to give you real numbers of performance.

Really can't tell anything without prop size a tach and gps speed if possible. The wrong prop will produce poor performance at the least and premature engine failure at the worst.
