Re: Am I wasting my time without a DVA
That was my guess. IS this correct: The black/yellow wire just completes a ground to kill the engine. If the harness is disconnected I have continutity between the black/yellow and the orange (Bottom coil). This would seem like the powerpack shorted and is killing the spark. Going to order a new powerpack tonight.
How often do sensors and coil laminate assy go bad? Wondering if I should go ahead and oreder evrything at once.
Thanks for all the help. Don't know what I would do without this site,
Correct, the black/yellow wire is the kill wire.
Can't answer your question about the continuity, because I've never tried it. You shouldn't be inventing new tests, it will only confuse you.
Your driver coil (coil & laminate) appears to be ok from your tests. So does the sensor. They are pretty reliable. I assume you don't see anything physically messed up or heat damaged in there? I agree, it sounds like you have a bad power pack. But we all get fooled sometimes. That's why they make DVA meters. Like Joe, I don't have one either.
