Hi you guys...you keep talking about the way Saddam has been treating your country, they people and many other. But you should know that there are guys that will want to keep bothering the world. We here in Venezuela really need help to take out this guy from the goverment. I am with an opposition party here in Puerto La Cruz and they tried to kill me two times. So we really need help here.

Chiques, I'm sure the American government knows of your plight. Our news media just today told of thousands of murdered people in the Congo. The entire world is wacko, and the world thinks we are the global police, because we keep breaking-up fights. what you are fighting is a very organized militia itself, just as what is butchering thousands in the Congo, N.Korea, Bosnia and until recently, Iraq.<br />My heart aches when I hear news like that which I heard this morning, and now ,this post from you.<br />I know this is not much, as I am one person,and don't have 30buks in the bank right now...But I would like to help as an individual, in any way I can.<br /><br />I'm not that familiar with the affairs of Venezuala, but you asked {what should you do?}<br />Plainly, I can only encourage you.If it were me, I would not demand anything from someone better armed than yourself. Just as in our revolt with England, we gathered in churches and private homes, giving information to only those who need to know, and keeping all minds and hearts on a single goal. If you cannot find unitiy within your group, disolve the group, until you can find all like-minds. Study every move the mutants make.<br />If the money is on the side of the oposition, you will have traitors within your own organization,and it will be constant trouble. The oposition will try to study your every move too.<br /> I realise this is your country, and you love it. But survival is far more imporatant. Leave your homeland if need be, and return to rebuild it after the mutants have destroyed themselves (just as the mutants in Iraq have). Your homeland will be free someday.But if your army lacks the strength, gather intellegance, and gather a bigger Army.<br />JMHO.<br />And who knows? Perhaps the terrorist cells within your own homeland are those oppressing you,and two birds shall be killed with one stone.<br />If Bush is to be believed, (and I sure do), this assualt on terrorism is global, so your country would be in for a terrorist house-cleaning in due course..I'm praying anyway, and have the utmost faith in "good-over evil" allways prevailing.

So tell me, as I too am not very familiar with Venezueala and its politics.<br />Who is the current leader? Is it Chavez, or am I thinking of someone else? Was he elected? Do you have regular elections?<br />I really thought that you folks down there have a form of a democracy. It is the problem at times with democracies is that they do not always elect those that we wish they would. If you simply have philosophical problems with an elected leader, that is a problem. If he was illegally elected, that is a different problem.<br /><br />But again I am not familiar with your situation, or the local politics, and am curious.

not sure what we should or CAN do. A significant percentage of the oil purchased in the USA came from Venezuela until the strike. Then, as you know, the quantity dropped substantially. The civil unrest in Venezuela is not secret. But, with ABC, NBC an CBS as our main sources of information for public consumption, we are not given much information on your plight.<br />Even with the limited info in the US, word of politically motivated executions and murders has gotten out. It seems that the military is still under the control of the current administration but that these guys arn't as good at pumping the oil as the workers were.<br />I guess it's got to be a tough balancing act. I don't think too many folks in Venezuela would be thrilled to srr US troops marching through their streets ( but again ,I don't know).<br /><br />What's the "word" on the promised elections? <br /><br />(Keep your head down)

All I can say is that I am sure glad I live where I do.<br /><br />I don't think I could handle living in a place like that without moving out of that place to a place where it would be safe for my family.<br /><br />Family comes first in whatever situation you are in.
