I'm in the process of installing a new audio system on my boat, consisting of all Rockford Fosgate Marine components. So far I've got the new source unit in, the transom remote, aux-in panel, and some other items. Today I got the last few parts I needed to construct an amp rack under the Passenger-side console for my mono sub amp and the 4 channel amp. I had considered putting the amps inside the cuddy initially, but thought they were nice enough looking to show them off a bit instead. All I needed was a way to hide the wiring, so I built this:
The parts:

The panel is a piece of starboard from some Tracker marine boat. The starboard strips are from a SeaRay supposedly. The wire pass-thru gaskets are actually automotive firewall grommets. Stuff was sourced from eBay.
Test fitting the rack under the console:

Next, drilling the the holes that the wires will pass thru to the amps, and fitting the grommets:

Amplifiers attached:

Installed:

So there it is
I am going to see if I can find some closed-head nuts for where it secures to the bulkhead so the mounting stud end is not exposed, but other then that I'm pretty happy. Those starboard strips give me enough room between the back of the panel and the cabin bulkhead to pass all the wiring behind it and thru the grommets, so just the points of attachment to the amps will be visible. Just have to wire up the amps, swap all the speakers for the new RF ones, and install the subwoofer, and I'll be done with the whole install. A complete write-up will follow, with pictures of everything. Thanks for looking!
