Amplifier Assembly

Got a question on hooking up the assembly, there are 4 wires, purple, black/white, blue, grey - I know the grey wire goes back into harness to tach lead, purple wire goes back to thermo switch, blue wire toes to coil, where does the black/white go to? 68 evinrude 55hp thanks

Black/white goes to the black points lead coming out under the flywheel. The purple goes to the purple for key-on +, not thru any thermoswitch (purple/yellow). That's an automatic half-choke you'd be better-off disconnecting.

on my pics there are two sets of wires coming from under flywheel, first one is a single wire that I would believe goes to points? the other is 2 wires one is hooked to ground and the other ? they are simply sitting under a tab out of the base plate assembly, according to the pics it is the lead assmbly primary and lead assmbly ground, what hooks up to the primary? so then am I to assume the black/white from amplifier would hook to the other single wire which I think goes to points?

also why disconnect the choke assembly? according to wire diagram two wires red/white goes back to choke switch onder panel, red/orange goes back to thermo swich then red from thermo goes back to amplifier, what is the reason for disconnecting it, would it bother anything else if I did?
