Got a question!!! I currently have 2 kicker speakers in billet cans on my tower as well as 2 kicker ktm6 tower speakers. The can speakers are 65w rms at 4 ohms and the ktm6 speakers are 150 w rms at 4 ohms. The amp I am installing is 80 rmsx4 at 4 ohms, a 4 channel amp obviously. How should I wire up the speakers to the amp to where I'm not overpowering the can speakers and not underpowering the ktm6 speakers?
Thanks,
Josh

80w rms is plenty for the ktm6 speakers. You could turn the gain on the amplifier down for the can speakers. You could bridge the amp and series each set of speakers, but that doesn't help much either...I'd just turn the gain down on the can speakers.
Unfortunatly with your amp, your not going to get each speaker to exactly the rated wattage no matter how you wire it....

power DOESNT hurt speakers...DISTORTION does...too much power is just enought, use the gains and your decks fader to control the volume and your ears for distortion. when an amp reaches its limits it distorts causing an effect known az DCing, which will hold the speaker cone out and heat n cook the voice coil. we now cut open subs ( clarions warranty procedure) if the coil is discolored = no warranty. as an installer of 12v audio i would luv to see amps that have no user controls on them, and somthing like a plug in scan tool to set them up. whould put an end to idiots thinking a "gain" is a volume control. i remember EVERY install i have done in the past 20+ years and know if my install setting have been changed.
