Amsoil Saber Outboard 100:1 mix ratio

Good day y'awl. Own a low milage (less than 30 hours) 1997 Force 15 hp. Although this engine runs good it smokes more than my ex 9.9 Johnson motor (also low hours)and consequently more of that yukky smoke gets in my lungs as I use my boat mainly for trolling. For that reason I am thinking or using the Amsoil Saber Outboard Oil at their recommended 100:1 mix ratio since they advertise less smoke, less odor, less toxicity than any other oil. One Amsoil dealer told me the Amsoil Saber Outboard used at the 100:1 mix ration will lubricate better than the engine manufacturer's recommandation at 50:1 mix ratio using conventional petroleum based TC-W3 oil. <br />I sure would appreciate some comments on that.<br /><br />Tx

Forgot to mention that I already tried Quicksilver, Castrol, and Amsoil Injector (50:1)<br /><br />I do have slightly less smoke with the Amsoil which is my reason for wanting to try their 100:1 mix ratio product.

Don't believe a salesman! I suppose you also believe politicians and lawyers? Force NEVER made a 100:1 motor. Use it at your own peril and don't hold your breath for Amsoil to replace it when it locks-up tight. Run it at the motor manufacturer's (you know, the guys that designed, built, and tested hundreds of them for thousands of hours before bringing them to market) recommendations and burn the stupid literature Amsoil pukes out like so much confetti littering the planet. Use it at 50:1 and take advantage of synthetic's superior lubricating properties rather than stringing it out to the edge of disaster. A conventional 2-stroke that doesn't smoke is a DEAD conventional 2-stroke.<br /><br />Amsoil makes a good product. Too bad they can't muster enough intelligence to abandon this stupid 100:1 bullship! Use the SEARCH function under the Outboard Non-Repair heading and type in Amsoil. Get good and comfortable, there'll be plenty to read both pro and con. On a side note, if you ONLY troll with it, 100:1 may be peachy. It's at higher throttle that you really need that lubrication.

I've been using Amsoil HPI at 50:1.<br />Have about 40 hours on each of 2 motors using HPI.<br />But wouldn't think of using any oil at 100:1 in my motors.

Here's an idea...go out and get some Amsoil motor oil for your vehicle and only put in Half. Or get some Amsoil gearlube for your differential and only put in Half. Is that why you buy synthetic oil? To spend more to use less? Would you feel safe?

Sorry WillyBWright this time you'r not totaly right ... lol. because 2 cycle lubrification has nothing to do with using half the quantity of oil in a car or differential for these units need a certain level of fluid in them. I think 2 cycle is more like how much lubrificacity is carried to the cylinder walls. At least that's how I see it for the moment.<br /><br />Hoping we can remain forum friends ... LOl

WillyBWright, I have checked the forum you suggested to me and was pleased to read a lot of positive comments about the Amsoil Saber 100:1 mix oil. One person mentionned using it with a big Force motor for years without problems, that enough to convince me to try it. As an explanation I am working on an water anti-polution project regarding the near prohibition of usage of 2 cycles motors and I am looking for the following keywords: lean-mix / low smoke / low water toxicity / biodegradable / ect.<br /><br />Cheers
