My Doral Monticello came w/out an anchor. Someone mentioned an OEM stainless polished one might run $700, I haven't heard from dealer or Doral after repeated attempts to even get a freakin quote.

Anyway, found a used stainless anchor. It's a 33lb hinged plow anchor. What is the appropriate size anchor for a 25ft Doral Monticello, 6400lbs dry weight, for a lake in MN. I have a power windlass system as well.

Re: Anchor

$700 is very high for an anchor. Size is good, just make sure the type of anchor is for use in the lake...for example is it a mud, sandy or grassy bottom.

Re: Anchor

Recommended normal-sized anchor of that style on a boat like yours would would be 14 lbs. 22lbs would be good-sized for a storm anchor, so it's overkill. If you have the space to keep it, it'll surely hold well.
