Installing a new anode in the heat exchanger in my VP 5.7L heat exchanger. Its NPT so Teflon tape to prevent a leak or will the Teflon tape insulate the anode and don't want to do that.

Maybe threading in the anode the threads will cut the Teflon tape and no issue with the Teflon tape insulating the anode.

The anode needs good electrical contact to the metal that it is protecting. No tape. I often put a little bit of Permatex on the threads so they will seal.

Loctite to hold the anode pencil to the NPT plug

Either tape or paste as the threads will cut thru the sealant

I was just attacked by a man with a cathode and an anode!

It was a battery and a salt.
