Alpha1 gen2 I am replacing the impeller and I did not notice the position of the anode., it fell out How does it reattach? Does the raised part of the anode position to the bow of boat or the stern? It seems like it can go either way.

When I did my impeller recently, I also failed to notice how that protrusion fits back up in to the slot on the outdrive. I just held it up and whichever way it fit, I screwed it in. I'd be surprised if direction really matters, as long as the flat underside sits flush with the surrounding part of the outdrive.

well ..mine fits nicely in both directions. Wait a minute.... just thinking.. after I put the bolt (the one that hides under the anode) back in place to attach the lower unit maybe it will only fit one way then.

If it fits, go with it, but generally should face the bow. Take a look at the fin anodes...

Hump to the bow or the bolt you removed the anode to get to won't allow the anode to seat.
