I am curious if anyone has ever/read about possibly taking there anodes of there drives and running them through a light sand blast just to remove the build up. would that return the anode to somewhat of a new condition exposing the new material?

Re: anode

not really how they work, so I do not believe it would be effective. All you need to do is freshen up the fastener contact surfaces.

Re: anode

if you buff them, you can make them shiney as well.

Re: anode

I would think the area that the fastening surface contacts the drive structure would benefit from that to make a better bond. If the bolts and threads are white with oxidized goober pucky the current would be resisted...wouldnt it?

Re: anode

It's not a build up.It the zinc actually disentigrating or doing it's job.
You can buff, sand them but they'll just get ugly again.
Just cleaning the contact points will make them work better.
