Another alarm question

Hi All! I have a new to me 1998 Bayliner Capri with a 4.3l that I keep getting an alarm sounding beep beep beep beep........ I did my research a found the 3things that set the alarm off (IE: low gear lube, low oil pressure, high temp) disconnected all three one at a time and could not silence the alarm. The weird thing is it only does it in the water. On the trailer, on muffs no alarm. This boat has a stock depth gauge does it have a shallow water alarm that could be malfunctioning? Or do I have a short somewhere? Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Another alarm question

check the gear lube float. they are crap. mine went out after 2 seasons. I could still see the float and the component but the end had come off so the float was floating just not completing the circuit.

you might have to drain some of the gear lube out by tilting the container to see if the float has come disconnected.

let me know!

Re: Another alarm question

our gear lube container was the same way. was a pain in the *** to put float and keeper back together.
