Just heard on the news that Pro-Line boats has shut down production until January. Hope they will be able to resume as projected. FYI

Them shutting down now, may stop the bleeding long enough to keep them alive in the future.

Hope noone bought an extended warranty.
Maybe they can stand in line for some bail-out money !

A local boat dealer's yard is usually pretty empty about this time of year. It is still chock full of boats with the white plastic transportation covers on them. A big sign out front proclaims hot deals on '08 models.

Not a good sign.

Re: Another casualty of the economic times

If you do a google search on "boat plant shutdown", you will see many results.
Most are temporary for a couple of months. I saw brand new 2006 boats still
for sale last summer, so the dealers should be flexible on selling their 2006,
2007, and 2008 boats still in stock. Ain't no guarantees on what's going to happen.
Plans and projections are one thing, but what takes place is another.
Hope and work for the best.

They should've bought a self-bailing boat.:eek::p

Ain't that the truth.
I've had to go down to the pier twice today to hit the bilge switch.
Darn Sea Ray has a bilge the size of my wife's bladder.

I've been wondering if it's practical to modify my 'Ray to be self bailing.
...another thread.

Hmmmm....wondering about the wife now!
probably wouldn't help the carpeting though.
