Another disfunctional trim????????

I recently trailered my boat to the lake and ran for about two hours. When I put the boat back on the trailer and raised the outdrive I got nothing not even a sound. I do get 12V to the motor from the switch, but I haven't tried yet to jump the solenoid. I have a '91 Chaparral and haven't had any trim problems until today. I know I need to bypass the solenoid and see if the motor is bad or not, but other than that what else is there. How do I check the reverse lock?
