This weekend I had a voltage regulator go bad, unplugged it limped 15 miles back to the ramp, cut engine off at ramp, boat would not restart. I noticed the fuel pump was not buzzing cycled the key a few times heard pump , motor cranked. The motor idled good but would not hardly run under a load. could the bad voltage regulator cause the fuel pump driver to go bad? This motor has been flawless until now? I have a 99 225 promax on my other boat , can I switch the ecm's for testing purposes?
