I think I'm starting to get a handle on what is required to convert to electronic ignition, but still have a couple of questions. 88' 5.0 cobra. Do I need to replace the purple/red resistor wire that runs from the + side of the coil to the alternator? If so what is used? I have the upgraded ESA (# 987738). This is the module that eliminates the overstroke switch and has the timer built in. Would this be compatible with the conversion or do I still need the diode & resistor fix.
