Another prop question....

Hello all...I have a 2002 Larson 210 SEI with a 5.0 V8. We love the boat, but I was expecting a little more on the top end. The boat came with an extra prop, and after examining it I am wondering if I should put it back on. The guy I bought the boat from was a big guy and also was a single skier, so I am assuming the prop he put on was for out of the hole power and not top end. We use the boat for tubing and wakeboarding and don'treally need the out of the hole power. My question is how much of an increase in top end will I see with th original prop? Oringinal prop....14.25X21. Replacement prop...14.25X19. Thanks.

The nineteen pitch would be the normal for that set up. In theory the twenty one would give you noticeably more speed, but with weight distribution and hull configuration, it depends on if you have enough horse power to turn it. Also if you're pulling up a wakeboarder they'll appreciate getting up as fast as possible.
But if you have both props, try them and see what works for you/

Some variables need to be nailed down to do any bench assessments, but as mentioned you have the best setup for finding out having both props right there.

IF your engine reaches top RPM now with normal load and can even over-rev a bit then going from the 19p to a 21p should get 2-3 mph IF the engine can hit the top RPM with the 21p on it. It may not like the 21p, just have to see. If it can;t hit top RPM with the 21p then I would expect the top speed to be about the same as it is now.

i can't imagine the diffrence will be more than 2 MPH. just my thoughts

Hard to tell the results when we don't know the numbers with the 19" prop.
The 21 will lose hole shot and may struggle more to stay on plane at reduced throttle.
