another question on water pumps

I have seloc manual (should throw it in the trash) it is not much help. After the impeller plate is removed there is a little box that the driveshaft goes through is that part of the water pump? If not everything looks good, but it was not circulating water after I put it back together.

no it isn't .the piece you mentioned holds the drive shaft seal and a bearing ,nut has nothing to do with the water pump.

HI, What motor are we talking about and did it pump water before you started replacing the pump?
