another question: Volvo 270T oil change...o-rings, gaskets?

I'm going to do my first outdrive oil change, but after a few hours of googling, I'm not at all sure where or what part numbers I need to order or where to find them.... to replace the drain plug gasket, the oil fill gasket or o-ring (not sure what it is supposed to be) and the dipstick gasket (I assume there is one).
Anyone have this information handy?

I have changed my oil on my 275 outdrive a couple of weeks ago. As long as you have not over torque them before and they don't have gouges and cuts then just reuse the o-rings..if you need to replace them then I would just go to you local auto parts or hardware store and get one the same size. Yes the drain plug and dipstick have o-rings. If your 270T is the same set up, the right front bolt of the top cover is a fill hole which also has an o-ring. Leave the dipstick out when filling for venting purposes.

Not sure they are the same. Mine has a "fill plug" that is quite a bit larger than the drain plug, about half way up the leg. I pulled it out today, and it appears to have the remains of an o-ring on it. The procedure for changing the oil is in my engine maintenance manual, but they don't mention specifics about the gaskets/o-rings...other than they should be changed every time.
Being Volvo, would this outdrive possibly be metric and require metric o-rings? I'm assuming that there actually are such things....

My 270 had fiber washers on the drain and fill plugs and an o-ring on the dip stick. The fill plug was much larger than the drain plug.

I'm not 100% on the numbers for your model, but I think you need:
drain: 804261
fill: 897682
dip: 955974

Total of 5.96 here from the penta store, so why risk reusing anything.

Very true, for less than $6 plus shipping why take chances. These are not highly pressurize lines just plugs that I would worry about if they were metric or not nor would I change them every single time..I'm no expert on boat outdrive just offering my opinion.

Okay, I was able to just put in your part numbers and order that way. I had looked at the Penta store before and could not find the 270 or 270T outdrive listed anywhere to find the parts or part numbers. Am I just not looking in the right place, or did those part numbers come from somewhere else?
Last night, I ordered the "workshop manual" from Volvo for the 270T. I hope that will have all the info I ever need.

Well if you ordered a Solec manual, you might as well return it now. Lots of bad information in there, plus the real volvo manual is probably available for a free download. Don S. posts the link to the volvo page for manuals all the time, you might find with just a little poking around.

What is the year and engine model you have with that 270t? I saw it's a Chrysler 340, but does it have a Volvo AQxxx/or BBxxx designation?

Expand the 'pre-1989' listings. Then pick your motor. Then select "Transmissions" on the right. It will list all the trannies used on that setup, but yours should be there too.

Luckily, I had read in my research, that the Solec manuals were not good. I had to order a printed "real" one from Volvo, as the 270T workshop manal was not available any other way.
I went to your link, expanded the "pre-89" listings, but did not see my motor or anything that said "270T", so I'm not sure about the AQ or BB. If there is a plate with that info on the drive somewhere, where would it be? I'll take a look....

You will have to find the drive under the engine model listings for the older drives.

Just read your other thread and see you have a Chrysler engine, and you aren't going to find the engine in the Volvo section under the engines. I did however find a 270T diagram for you.
