another question

new to this outboard thing, but can anyone tell me what the difference is ( other than colour) between white and grey Johnson out boards

i have a 1999 90 hp v4 that is a charcoal grey in colour ( Ocean Pro) , but i see heaps of white ones.

also does anyone know the paint code for the charcoal grey?? I've searched a bit, mostly google but no luck yet

Many Johnsons were white for many years. OMC experimented with charcoal on a few models. My Johnson from 95 was originally marketed by Tracker boats and their engines were all charcoal. The original factory engine part lists have a section for paint colors. Part number and size can, etc. You can look at all the colors on their factory exploded parts diagram website: epc.brp.com. OMC started identifying paint codes, colors starting in the 1979 model year.
