Another trim problem

I've got a 98 5.7GS - no idea what or where to find the serial number and I have twice replaced the short block.

The other day I gave a friend a ride across my channel - like 100 yards - got in the boat, trimmed her down and drove over and back in 5 minutes - when I got back to my dock the trim was no longer working (at least its down I guess)

I've read lots of past posts on the subject and reviewed the diagram and am still scratching my head.

1. When you push the buttons (thumb controls on the throttle) in either direction I hear what sounds like relays clicking.
2. I have found nothing that looks like traditional relays described in diagrams; on my unit there is what looks like a control unit attached to the trim motor harness; on one side it has red/black; on the other side it has the green, green/white, blue, blue white - on the back side you clearly see a circuit board. The motor seems to have the solid blue and green going into it - I can't see how the ground is attached to the actual motor.

I tried jumping from the battery to the pump whilst the wires were all still connected and all I hear is more relay clicking.

Any recommendations - I am clearly not an electrician - I'd just take it to the shop but the drive will be dragging down the road and it's already had enough abuse.

Thanks in advance.

Post a picture of your trim pump.
