Another winterizing question

I read the thread on winterizing and understand about removing all the plugs to drain the water, etc....

My question: Is there any chance that water could be trapped in the impellar or the tube that carries it from the outdrive to the engine? If so, how can this be drained without removing the outdrive? The boat is pretty new, with less than 40 hrs, so I don't intend on pulling the drive until next year. Oh, it is an Alpha 1, Gen 2.

Yes it's possible and probable.Loosen all hoses in the motor compartment and pour antifreeze in the hoses till it comes out the drive.J

That doesn't seem consistent with all the other threads on winterizing. Most people just drain and don't add antifreeze. Maybe one of the experts can jump in here.

The water drains out of the pump and the tube when the drive is down and the motor is not running. Absolutely no reason to try and put antifreeze in it, it will just run out on the ground.
