Re: antifreeze or leave dry???
More of my .02 worth.
Warm the engine to operating temperature on the Muffs with the garden hose. Switch to the 60/40 antifreeze using the gravity or my sump pump preferred method. Run the Temperature back up to operating+ temp.

Fog the engine dead, open all drains, drop the lower circulating pump hose. into each drain hole insert a pipe cleaner to help get any particle out. I remove the drain set from the manifolds to make sure the larger particles come out. I leave the drains open and the hose removed for a few days to let the moisture evaporate. The heated engine helped get a lot of the moisture out also.
remove sparkplugs, squirt in some fog oil.

In a few days close up the drains, reinstall the hose, and be done. This assumes you have already changed the oil and filter on the engine and the OD.

Also be sure to lower the OD to it's lowest point to relax the bellows and to drain off any mix. I tie wrap my through the hull exhaust closed. you might consider if your exhaust has large openings you might consider sealing them also. (Pesky varmits)

From

Dry Iron will corrode less.

1969 Kaikheafer Mercrusier TypeII, 327 cu. in. 225HP all original minus a few wear parts. Dryblock winterized every year since it was new in out family. 34 years on a pair of LOG style manifolds is quite good.
