My husband has an old Evinrude that belonged to his uncle, and he is trying to find some information about it. The serial number is 4407-02944 it says Ranger and there is also another number 1938.

I have checked all my records on numbers, and really didn't see anything that matched your description. Depending on the age, there should be a clear model number on the engine. Could you post the model number? That will tell the entire story!!
It sounds like an old Elto Ranger Outboard Motor Evinrude made them way back! See if you can supply the model #. Thanks,
