Have a family of 5 and looking for boat for skiing, fishing, and general boating fun on freshwater lakes in GA. Based on my boating experience, think a deck boat setup for skiing and fishing is best fit for our family now.

Came across the Tahoe 215 cc about 4 years ago and have always thought it would be a great multi sport boat. Looking to buy a used boat and found a nice deal on a very clean 2006 with low hours and considering taking the plunge. Have read numerous new boat reviews but not been able to find owner feedback.

A few questions for anyone with insight into 215 cc:

-How is boat's general handling and ergonomics when cruising, skiing, and fishing?

-Boat I am looking at has 150 Optimax, any feedback on power this provides the 215 when skiing and cruising with passengers?

-Came across forum postings that mention fit / finish and gel goat / fiberglass issues?most seem to reference Q series?any 215 owners out there with similar issues?

-If you are an owner...would you buy one again?

Any other general thoughts would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

Re: Any feedback on Tahoe 215 cc

I assume CC means center console. My father has a 215, however his is the I/O bowrider version. Is it the deck style front? If so that is what my Dad has. It is horrible on rough water. Lots of banging and slamming. With the 4.3V6 it takes forever to get up on plane, especially when you are towing a tube. Oh and you really have to watch it on heavy water due to how low the front of the boat sits in the water. You frequiently get swamped especially when you have people sitting up there..

Now if it is a regular hull, which is what my Q7 is, it will be just fine. I have a 350 V8 I/O in mine. It has more than enough power to pull anything you want, gets up on plane very fast. Its comfortable over rough water.

I have read a lot lately concerning the smart tabs. I think from what I have read that it will help with all the shortfalls of my Dad's boat.

Yes, boat we are looking at is the 215 center console deck boat. Sounds like same boat your dad has other than this is outboard vs. I/O. Thanks for the feedback..expect we would have some of the same issues with water coming over the front. Taking for a test drive this coming weekend...and will look for some waves.

And to other recommendation on posting in Tahoe forum...did that as well.

Thanks.
